At SnapLo, we take your privacy seriously. SnapLo is a location-sharing app that lets you share your real-time location with friends you invite, see them on a map, and explore places nearby. SnapLo also includes an optional reverse image search tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, how we use it, how location sharing works, and the third parties involved.
By using the SnapLo app, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, we kindly ask that you do not use the app.
SnapLo shows your location on a map and lets you share it with friends you have connected with. With your permission, we access your device location only while you are using the app ("When In Use"). SnapLo does not track your location in the background.
Location sharing is built around mutual invitations. To connect, one person shares an invitation code (valid for 2 days) and the other enters it. Once connected, you and that friend can see each other's location on the map. You are in control at all times:
To provide real-time sharing, your location, and location history such as recent places and trips, is transmitted to and stored on our servers so it can be delivered to the friends you are connected with. Location history is kept for up to 7 days and then automatically deleted, and you can delete it or remove a connection at any time (see "Data Retention").
When you use invitation codes to connect with friends, we process the invitation codes you generate or enter and records of your connections (for example, who is connected and connection status) so that location sharing can work. Invitation codes are valid for a limited time (2 days).
SnapLo also includes an optional reverse image search tool. When you choose or take an image and agree to search, the image is transmitted through our service to third-party image search providers — Bing Visual Search, Yandex, and Google Lens (accessed through our search API partner, SerpApi) — solely to retrieve matching public web content in real time. Before your image is sent, SnapLo shows an in-app notice explaining what is sent and to which providers, and asks for your agreement. Your image is used only to perform that single search and is not stored on our servers afterward.
The image search providers receive your image in order to perform the search and process it under their own terms. SnapLo does not authorize them to use your image for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell your data.
SnapLo's image search does not build a facial recognition database, does not detect faces, does not extract or store facial features or biometric templates, and does not train any models using your images. It does not perform biometric identification of any person and only aggregates publicly available web information.
SnapLo does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app.
We use the information described above only to:

We retain your location history for up to 7 days, after which it is automatically deleted. Your most recent location is kept only to provide real-time sharing with the friends you are connected with. You can delete your location history, block a friend's location, or remove a connection at any time; when you do, the related data is deleted from our active systems.
Images used for reverse image search are not stored on our servers — each image is used only for a single search. We may retain limited, non-identifying technical logs (such as crash and abuse-prevention logs) for a reasonable period to keep the service secure and reliable.
You are in control of your location and connections. You can stop sharing, block a friend's location, remove a connection, or delete your location history at any time within the app. You can also manage location, photo, and camera permissions in your device settings. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. These measures include encryption in transit, secure access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system can guarantee 100% security, and we cannot guarantee that your data will be completely secure.
SnapLo is intended for lawful and respectful use only. Location sharing is meant for people who know and trust each other and have chosen to connect. You must not use SnapLo to harass, stalk, monitor, or otherwise violate the privacy of any person, and you must only share location with people who consent to connect with you. Image search results are drawn from public web sources, and we do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or relevance.
SnapLo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Your data may be transmitted to and processed on servers, and (for image search) sent to third-party providers, that may operate in countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. By using SnapLo, you consent to this transfer for the purposes described in this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. If we make any significant changes, we will notify you through the app or other means before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
